Renew your ICE membership
You can retain the full benefits of membership by logging into MyICE, selecting the 'My Subscriptions' tile and then 'My Subscriptions', or call +44 (0)121 227 5948 (select option 1).
The ICE has launched a new membership management system, and you’ll need to re-register your MyICE account before you can access the new portal. If you are encountering difficulties please visit the ICE membership management system upgrade Q&A page for further help.
You can find your membership number on the dashboard of the MyICE portal once you are logged in.
You can receive your subscription renewal communications in two ways:
By email: Please make sure the email address we hold you for is correct. You can check this by accessing the email address section of your MyICE account and ensuring it is up to date. To make sure you don’t miss any of our emails, please add [email protected] to your safe sender list.
By post: If you’d like to change the way you receive subscription renewal communications from us please contact [email protected]. To update your address details, please visit the MyICE portal.
We accept Direct Debit as a payment method however the cutoff date to set this up for 2026 has now passed. If you haven’t paid your subscription for 2026, you’ll need to pay this using another payment method such as a credit or debit card, or by cheque.
We accept all major credit cards.
To make your payment, please click ''My subscriptions'.
International payments: If you're paying from outside the UK using a credit or debit card, we recommend notifying your card provider in advance to reduce the chances of your payment being declined.
We accept payment by postal cheque or bank draft.
Please ensure the payment is made in pound sterling and made payable to the ‘Institution of Civil Engineers’.
Make sure to write your name and membership number on the back of the cheque or draft.

Some banks may charge for using this service and you will need to cover the additional charges issued by your bank. Please send a copy of your remittance slip with your membership number to ICE’s Finance team at [email protected]
You can see and edit any voluntary donations during the renewal journey in MyICE by unticking the boxes.
Please note, you will need to complete the subscription renewal process in order to save any changes to your voluntary donations.
If you are a direct debit payer, you will need to contact [email protected] for assistance.
Yes. We offer a reduced fee for those who are retired. To apply for this reduced fee check the ‘retired’ box when you access your subscription renewal invoice on MyICE.
You can also apply for a reduced fee by completing the retired rate claim form.
Yes. We offer a reduced fee for those who are currently earning less than £25,396 per year. To apply, check the ‘low income’ box when you access your subscription renewal invoice on MyICE.
You can also apply for a reduced fee by completing the reduced rate claim form.
If you believe you have the wrong subscription fee showing on your MyICE account, please get in touch with us at [email protected] for further assistance. Please remember to include your membership number and current email address registered with us.
If you have recently paid your subscription but can't see it on your account, please allow 3 working days for it to show.
After 3 working days, if it still hasn't shown on your account, please get in touch with us at [email protected] quoting your membership number.
Our subscription and applications fees are exempt from VAT.
You will be able to access your subscription bill via MyICE, under My subscriptions.
You will be able to see any receipts on your account in the receipt section of your MyICE account.
You will be able to access your invoice via MyICE, under My subscriptions.
To complete your payment some fields must not be left blank, so please make sure you select a country and enter your postal or ZIP code. If you do not have a postal or ZIP code, please enter ‘00’ into this field.
The ICE membership year runs from 01 January to 31 December and not from the date of your payment. Payments of your membership made throughout the year will be valid until 31 December.

If you are already a member and would like to progress your membership to the next level, get in touch with your local membership team.
You can’t currently request an ICE membership card. When this service is available you’ll be able to access the it from the My subscriptions section of MyICE.
Cards are produced between 1 February to 31 August. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.
If you wish to update the name used on your MyICE account, please email a PDF copy of any of the following:
- Marriage certificate
- Deed poll certificate
- Passport
- Driving licence
Please email our Membership Services team on [email protected] so we can officially update your ICE membership record.
To update your work details, you will need to log into MyICE and update your contact details section.
If you wish to cancel your ICE membership, please email us at [email protected] quoting your membership number and reason for cancellation.
If you know a member who has recently died, please email us at [email protected] with the following information about the member:
- Their membership number
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Registered home address
Please also include:
- Next of kin name
- Next of kin address
You can access the NCE website and digital magazine by visiting the New Civil Engineer website and logging in using your MyICE credentials. You’ll need to have re-registered your MyICE account first. If you’re encountering difficulties please contact us.
If you are an ICE member, your Society membership number will be the same as your ICE membership number. To check, simply log into MyICE and it will be visible on your dashboard.
For those who are not ICE members, your Society membership number can be found in the confirmation email (welcome letter) you received when you first joined the Society.
Corporate memberships can be paid by all methods as per individual membership apart from via MyICE as this is only for individual members.
