Eligible members have until 14 July to vote on one trustee board vacancy and 13 council vacancies.
Don't miss your chance to take part in the 2026 ICE membership ballot – voting closes on 14 July 2026.
How do I vote?
Read what the candidates for the trustee board and council elections have to say about what they believe the ICE should focus on and how they could make a difference.
All members who are eligible to vote should have received an email from [email protected] with a link to the voting site and details on how to vote.
If you're not registered with a valid email address, or if you have opted out of voting online, the ballot papers will have been sent to you by post at the beginning of June.
The ICE has chosen to use Civica Election Services (CES) as the independent scrutineer to administer the vote and to ensure the integrity of the ballot.
If you haven’t received your ballot email/postal pack or have any questions about how to vote, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
What does the ballot cover?
ICE Trustee Board elections
The institution is governed by the ICE Trustee Board, responsible for strategic decision making.
ICE voting members directly elect trustees to the board.
To ensure continuity, not all vacancies will arise in the same year.
This year, there is one vacancy on the board for the trustee responsible for the finance, assurance and risk portfolio.
ICE Council elections
The council has an essential role in representing the views of the membership to the trustee board.
It supports the trustees in ensuring the ICE is considered a global centre of excellence championing the role civil engineering plays at the heart of society.
The council meets regularly to debate issues of relevance to civil engineering, the institution and society. They also set the agenda for the institution’s learned society activity.
The council election is an opportunity to choose the right people. The institution needs visionary thinkers to help it achieve its long-term ambitions for the benefit of people and the planet.
This year members will be asked to vote on 13 vacant positions:
- two general members
- four regional members
- six international members
- one graduate member
