The second in our series of online events for new engineers and technicians starting their Initial Professional Development (IPD). It is an opportunity to learn about the level of understanding needed for to demonstrate the Knowledge (K) level on an ICE training agreement or mentor supported scheme.

The aim of this event is to provide guidance to graduate members of the Institution of Civil Engineers (GMICE) on how to communicate well within a series of industry-specific themes or contexts, with a focus on climate change and resilience and the evolving role of engineers.

The Emerging Engineers Award promotes and rewards excellence in the originality and communication of civil engineering ideas and research.

Tara Sirati, chartered senior geotechnical engineer for Jacobs, was recognised by reviewers for her excellence in the award’s communications task.

The session will explore how new technologies are transforming construction and the changing role of engineers. It will cover the benefits and challenges of recent tech advancements and insights into managing these changes.

Organised on behalf of ICE North Wales and North West GSAT, this is a series of in-person workshops for new engineers, including apprentices, technicians working towards qualified ICE membership. These events will explore the knowledge level for each of the ICE attributes. 

A series of web-based workshops organised by the ICE Early Careers Network (ECN) aimed at Graduate, Student and Technician members who are working towards EngTech, IEng or CEng with the ICE. These workshops provide advice and guidance on recording Initial Professional Development (IPD).

This prize is awarded for the best response to the Communication Task. Named after an ICE staff member who served as an examinations officer from 1945 to 1981.

This event will provide guidance to graduate members of the ICE (GMICE) on how to communicate well within a series of industry-specific themes, with a focus on the topic of infrastructure resilience in the context of built environment and infrastructure projects.
