Jack is a management consultant and project manager with a portfolio of complex projects that has led to him developing a broad technical, commercial and managerial skillset. His primary focus is strategic planning and advisory in cities and the commons.
 
Since joining Buro Happold, Jack has been engaged in a variety of consulting projects, including strategy development, organisation development, real estate development and public-private partnership initiatives. Jack previously led the Middle East Asia chapter of Buro Happold's innovation think tank, Urban C:Lab. 
 
Prior to Buro Happold, Jack worked on the Thames Tideway Tunnel, Queensferry Crossing, Riyadh Metro, Hogarth Flyover and Manchester Metrolink.

Dr Balamurugan Balusamy

Prof. Balamurugan Balusamy is Professor and Chairperson of the School of Engineering and IT at Manipal University Dubai. He previously served as Professor and Associate Dean (Academics) at the Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi-NCR, and spent 15 years at VIT University, Vellore, in roles including Professor, Director (International Relations), and Associate Professor.

He has also held faculty positions at Galgotias University and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Taylor University, Malaysia. He was listed among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2023 by Stanford University in Data Science/AI/ML. His work spans engineering education, blockchain, and data science. 

Prof. Balusamy has published 200+ journal papers and 200+ books, collaborating with leading scholars from top QS-ranked universities. He has delivered 210+ international talks, travelled to over 15 countries for academic engagements, and organised more than 10 IEEE and ACM international conferences. His teaching emphasizes design thinking and learner‑centred approaches.

Paul is an award-winning, chartered engineer with over 30+ years’ experience in major consultancies including the delivery of complex engineering, specialist consultancy, regional business leadership and global digital transformation.

With extensive experience working in both the UK and Middle East, Paul has held roles such as Global Head of Digital at Surbana Jurong Group and Group Engineering and Technology Director at Robert Bird Group. In these roles Paul led the development of organisational digital strategy and spearheaded the creation of competitive advantage through the adoption of digital tools and a grassroots digital culture.

Paul is a passionate change advocate for the AEC industry and is a regular contributor to industry forums, talking at conferences and writing books and articles that challenge industry norms. Paul is a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a registered Professional Simulation Engineer with NAFEMS.
